One video, every placement
Most video ads are edited once, in one shape, then need three or four more before they can run everywhere. A landscape edit has to become a 9:16 Reel, a vertical one needs a 4:5 feed version, and every platform asks for a slightly different set.
CreativeResize reframes the whole clip in your browser. Choose Fit to keep every pixel, Crop to fill the frame, or Background to place the video over a blurred copy of itself, check any moment of the clip in the preview, and download an H.264 MP4 for each shape with the sound kept. Nothing is uploaded, so a 200 MB file is ready as fast as your device can encode it.
Video sizes by platform
| Placement | Aspect ratio | File you get | Good to know |
|---|---|---|---|
| Facebook and Instagram feed | 4:5 or 1:1 | 1080 × 1350 or 1080 × 1080 MP4 | Up to 4 GB. 4:5 takes the most space in the feed on phones. |
| Facebook and Instagram Stories and Reels | 9:16 | 1080 × 1920 MP4 | Keep text out of the top 14% and bottom 20%, where buttons and captions sit. |
| TikTok in-feed | 9:16, 1:1 or 16:9 | 1080 × 1920 MP4 | Up to 500 MB. Vertical fills the screen; TikTok recommends 9:16. |
| LinkedIn video ads | 16:9, 1:1, 4:5 or 9:16 | 1920 × 1080 or 1080 × 1350 MP4 | 3 seconds to 30 minutes, up to 500 MB, at most 30 frames per second. |
| Pinterest video Pins | 1:1, 2:3, 4:5 or 9:16 | 1000 × 1500 or 1080 × 1920 MP4 | 4 seconds to 15 minutes, up to 2 GB. Square or vertical is recommended. |
| YouTube in-stream and Shorts | 16:9 or 9:16 | 1920 × 1080 or 1080 × 1920 MP4 | 16:9 for ads before and during videos, 9:16 for Shorts. |
Last updated: . Video shapes and limits were checked against Meta's ads guide, TikTok's video ad specifications, LinkedIn's video ad specifications and Pinterest's product specs on 8 October 2026. Sizes shown are recommended or commonly used sizes unless a minimum is stated. Platform specifications can change. Check the platform's current advertising documentation before launching a campaign.
Reframing video without losing the message
Check the whole clip, not just the first frame
A crop that suits the opening shot can cut a face or a caption ten seconds later. Drag through the clip in the preview before you generate, and switch to Fit or Background if anything important leaves the frame.
Use Background for landscape footage in vertical slots
Cropping 16:9 to 9:16 keeps less than a third of the picture. Background keeps all of it and fills the rest of the screen with a blurred copy of the same video, so the frame never looks empty.
Make one file per shape
The same 9:16 MP4 works for Facebook and Instagram Stories and Reels, TikTok and YouTube Shorts. CreativeResize makes each shape once and lists every placement it is for, so the download stays small.
Your video is resized on your device.
Every frame is processed directly in your browser and your video is never uploaded. We keep only one small, low-resolution still frame of each upload for 7 days, so we can see how the tool is used, and then it is deleted automatically. There is no account.
Questions
Is my video uploaded?
No. The video is read and re-encoded in your browser with your device's own video encoder. We keep only one small still frame for 7 days to see how the tool is used, then it is deleted automatically.
How long can the video be?
Up to 3 minutes and 500 MB on a computer, and up to 1 minute and 200 MB on a phone, where memory is tighter. Most ads are well under a minute.
Which browsers work?
Recent versions of Chrome, Edge, Safari (16.4 or later, including iPhone and iPad) and Firefox on a computer. If your browser can't make video, the page tells you and gives you a link to open on a computer.
Is the sound kept?
Yes. Sound in the usual AAC format is copied over unchanged. You can also tick Remove sound to make silent versions.
What file do I get?
An MP4 with H.264 video and AAC sound, the format every ad platform recommends, at up to 30 frames per second.
