Resize One Creative for Every Placement

An ad is usually designed once, in one shape. The places it runs are not one shape. A feed wants a tall portrait, Stories and Reels want the whole phone screen, link ads want a wide rectangle, and each platform adds its own variations.

When you supply only the original, the platform makes it fit by cropping or shrinking it, and it does not know where your headline is. The other way is to resize the ad creative yourself for each placement, which normally means reopening a design tool and rebuilding the same layout several times.

CreativeResize is a free ad resizer that does that step for you. It takes the finished image and redraws it at each size, keeping its proportions, so one ad is ready for multiple placements in a few seconds.

How It Works

  1. 1. Upload

Choose a JPG, PNG or WEBP up to 20 MB. It opens in your browser and is not sent anywhere.

  2. 2. Choose formats

All six platforms are selected to begin with. Untick the ones you do not advertise on.

  3. 3. Select an adaptation mode

Fit, Crop or Background decides what happens where the new shape differs from your original.

  4. 4. Preview

Each shape is drawn live, so you can see what a mode does to your headline before generating anything.

  5. 5. Download

Take a single format from under its platform heading, or every format at once as a ZIP.

Supported Ad Formats

An aspect ratio is a shape: 4:5 means four units wide for every five tall. Pixel dimensions are how large that shape is saved. Platforms check the ratio first; the pixel size only has to be large enough to look sharp.

These are common export sizes. Some platforms recommend larger files for the same ratio; the Meta ad sizes page shows the recommended and minimum figures side by side.

Choose How Your Creative Is Resized

  • Fit

Places the whole creative inside the new shape and fills the remaining space with a colour. You can match the colour to your ad, use white or black, or pick your own.

Use it for designed ads with a headline, price or logo near an edge. Nothing is ever cut off.

  • Crop

Enlarges the creative until it covers the new shape and trims what falls outside, evenly from both sides.

Use it for photographs with the subject in the centre and space around it. It is the only mode that leaves no added background.

  • Background

Keeps the whole creative, like Fit, and fills the remaining space with an enlarged, blurred copy of the same image.

Use it when a square or wide ad has to become a tall 9:16 Story or Reel and plain bars would look unfinished.

Not sure which to pick? The guide on how to resize one ad creative for multiple placements shows how much of an image each change of shape removes.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is an ad creative resizer?

A tool that takes one finished advertising image and produces copies in the other shapes ad platforms need, such as square, 4:5 portrait, 9:16 full-screen and 1.91:1 landscape, without stretching it.

Can I resize one ad for multiple placements?

Yes, that is what it is for. One upload produces every supported format, and you choose once how the extra space in each shape is handled.

Is CreativeResize free?

Yes. Resizing and downloading are free, with no watermark and no limit on formats.

Do I need an account?

No. Open the page, upload an image and download the results.

Are my images uploaded to a server?

No. The image is processed in your browser on your own device and is never sent to a server. Closing the tab removes it from memory.

What image formats are supported?

You can upload JPG, PNG or WEBP files up to 20 MB. Downloads are JPG or PNG, the types ad platforms accept. Video is not supported.

What are the most common ad aspect ratios?

1:1 (square), 4:5 (portrait, used in feeds), 9:16 (full-screen vertical, used in Stories, Reels, Shorts and TikTok) and 1.91:1 (landscape, used for link ads). 2:3 is standard on Pinterest and 16:9 on YouTube.

Can I resize Facebook and Instagram ads?

Yes. Both are included, with feed, square, Stories and Reels sizes, plus the landscape size Facebook uses for link ads.

Can I download all formats at once?

Yes. Download All gives you one ZIP with a folder for each platform. You can also download any single format on its own.
